10 FUN-tastic Holiday Activities for Mommy and Mini

The most wonderful time of the year is here! This is the time for families to make memories and enjoy fun Christmas activities together. Counting down the days to the 25th of December, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy all the things this season has to offer! 

 

Our BB VIP members gave us some insight on their favorite mommy and mini holiday activities that help bring in the spirit of Christmas! Here are 10 FUN-tastic Holiday Activities for Mommy and Mini for the BEST. CHRISTMAS. EVER!!!

1.  Picking/Decorating the Christmas Tree

Whether you are picking your tree up from a tree farm or from Target, the Christmas tree is essential to the holidays! Make some holiday memories by taking your mini for the tree picking experience. Once you’ve picked out the perfect Christmas tree, take it home and have your little one decorate it as far as they can reach! Or pick up mini tree for your babe to decorate all on her own!

2.  Making Ornaments

Holiday arts and crafts are always a great way to spend quality time with your baby! It could even start a fun family tradition! Hop over to YouTube and search for DIY ornaments to get started. Then add to it each year, make sure to label the it with the date!

3.  Decorating a Gingerbread House

This is a SWEET activity the whole family will enjoy! Who could say no icing and candy? This is a great way for your little one to express themselves creatively and create their dream home!

4.  Going to see Santa

Like most of us during this unpredictable year, Santa might be working from home this season. But, your little one can still experience the magic of meeting with Old Saint Nick this Christmas! Have a social distanced meet up at your local mall! Set up a video chat with Santa so through JingleRing! Or, have dad dress up and bring the authentic Santa experience to your babe!

5.  Seeing Christmas Lights

One of my favorite holiday activities when I was younger was driving through neighborhoods that are filled with bright and colorful Christmas lights! Seeing those lights brings a wave of happiness only achievable during the holidays. So, pack up the car, bring lots of blankets, crank up the Christmas tunes, and go out to see some festive light displays!

6.  Building a Snowman

If you live in a winter wonderland around this time of the year, building a snowman, making snow angels, or going sledding are all perfect activities for little ones to burn some energy from all the Holiday treats & sweets!! Make sure you bundle up!

7.  Drinking Hot Cocoa

When the weather outside is frightful, a cup of hot cocoa is EXTRA delightful! What could be a better way to warm up than with a cup of hot cocoa with a dash of marshmallows! And if you want to try something new, add whipped cream and garnish with crushed candy canes! Perfect to drink in front of a warm fire or, if you’re anything like Ashley Paul’s kiddos, you like to enjoy your cocoa outside in to cold!

8.  Listening to Christmas Music

Mariah Carey, Michael Bublé’, Bing Crosby, and Nat King Cole. What do these artists have in common? They contribute to the best songs of Christmas! Putting on Christmas music can be an instant mood buster and is great to put on while decorating the tree, making ornaments, or decorating a gingerbread house! 

9.  Watching Christmas Movies

Streaming is all the rage nowadays! Pick your favorite one and put on a Holiday movie! From Christmas classics to modern Hallmark films, there are plenty of feel-good holiday movies to choose from. Our favorite is definitely Elf!

10.  Baking cookies for Santa on Christmas Eve

Homemade or store-bought, there’s no doubt that Santa loves cookies! Baking cookies with your mini on Christmas eve is a great activity that will make them super excited for the Christmas day! Beware: It can get messy…as expected!
